Palestinian women chant slogans during the funeral ceremony of Mahmoud Nasser at the Beit Hanoun refugee camp, northern Gaza strip. Palestinian policeman Nasser was killed in clashes with Israeli soldiers near the Erez crossing point on Friday.

A Palestinian policeman looks at bullet holes in a car in which Fatah official Thabet Thabet was shot dead in the West Bank town of Tulkarem. Thabet, 49 years old, was shot in the chest and legs as he left his house. Palestinians have blamed Israeli undercover units for Thabet's death three hours after a Palestinian shooting attack killed Binyamin Kahane, settler-son of the anti-Arab Rabbi Meir Kahane.

Palestinian mourners carry the body of 11-year-old Muaath abu-Hadwan who was killed by shrapnel overnight in the divided West Bank city of Hebron.

Palestinians carry the body of Sabri Khader, 52, a farmer who was shot dead by Israeli soldiers while tending his fields near the Jewish settlement of Dugit north of Gaza Strip during his funeral.

Israeli bulldozers level Palestinian farms as soldiers in an armored Israeli vehicle look on, near the Jewish settlement of Dugit, northern Gaza strip. Israeli army bulldozers razed about 75 acres of Palestinian agricultural land, including a number of greenhouses and four temporary homes of Palestinian farmers near the Jewish settlement of Dugit.

An Israeli soldier on the top of a tank prevents Palestinians from crossing the Netzarim junction near the Netzarim Jewish settlement in the Gaza strip. Israeli tanks closed major roads in the Gaza Strip, effectively cutting the territory in three, and disrupting the lives of more than 1 million Palestinians in the strip.

Palestinian Fatoum Khaled bends to kiss her son Amro (10-year-old), in hospital after being shot in the head. Amro was walking home from school in the West Bank town of Ramallah when he was shot by Israel soldiers.

Palestinian family members and friends mourn as the body of Abedl hamid Al-Khorati is lowered into a grave at a cemetery near Nuseirat refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. Al-Khorati was killed when Israeli troops fired on his neighboorhood near Netzarim junction.

Day 105 : Wednesday 10.01.2001

Palestinian mourners carry the body of 70-year-old Ibrahim Abu Maghasaib through a cemetery in the Gaza Strip village of Wadi Salqa. Abu Maghasaib was shot dead by Israeli troops while working on his farm near the Jewish settlement of Kfar Darom.

A Palestinian police officer waves Palestinian traffic through an Israeli army roadblock at Netzarine Junction in the Gaza Strip as an Israeli tank stands guard. After eight days of roadblocks dividing the Gaza Strip, the Israeli Army agreed to allow free traffic again through most of the checkpoints in the territory.

Israeli soldiers drag the body of Shaker Hassouni away, after he was shot dead by Israeli forces in the divided West Bank city of Hebron. Israeli soldiers shot and wounded five other Palestinians in the Hebron clash with rubber-coated metal bullets.

A Palestinian hurls a burning tire towards Israeli soldiers during clashes in the divided West Bank city of Hebron.


Day 109 : Sunday 14.01.2001

A group of Palestinian march during the funeral procession of Shaker Hassouni (22 years old), in the divided West Bank city of Hebron. Hassouni was shot dead last Friday by Israeli soldiers who had entered a Palestinian-controlled area of the city.


Day 110 : Monday 15.01.2001

Israeli soldier run past a large fire burning in the agricultural area of Kfar Yam in the Gush Katif Jewish settlement bloc in the Gaza Strip. The fire was set by Jewish settlers enraged after the killing of a Jew settler who was abducted and killed by Palestinians last night.

The body of Madi Ishtayeh is escorted by Palestinian during his funeral procession in the West Bank village of Kfar Salem near Nablus. Madi was killed during by Israeli soldiers Monday.

Palestinians try to make their way over a mound of dirt on a main road near the West Bank town of Hebron, set up by the Israeli army to keep Palestinian vehicles from entering Israeli-controlled areas.

Masked Palestinian demonstrators burn an effigy of Canadian Foreign Minister John Manley during a rally in the West Bank city of Nablus. The demonstrators were reacting to an interview in which Manley said Canada has offered to accept Palestinian refugees as part of a Middle East peace plan proposed by the United States. The U.S. plan would involve Israeli withdrawl from the West Bank and Gaza and a Palestinian renunciation of the right of millions of refugess to return to their old homes in Israel.

Delegates to a pan-Islamic conference on Jerusalem shout slogans at Israelis in the Fatima Gate border point in southern Lebanon. Some 200 delegates toured the Lebanon-Israel border at the end of their three-day conference in Beirut which voiced support for the Palestinian uprising against Israel.
